After earning her M.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996, Amy Roehl spent the following seven years as a designer with the Chicago-based Architecture, Interior Design, and Urban Planning firm of Solomon Cordwell Buenz. Ms. Roehl taught at Harrington College of Design in Chicago for one year followed by a year with the Interior Architecture Program at Ohio University. Prior to her start at TCU, Ms. Roehl worked as a senior designer with the Chicago-based residential design firm, Soucie Horner Ltd.

Ms. Roehl's scholarship focuses on creating connections between design education and professional practice. Her website http://www.projectconnectdpe.org houses videos of Interior Design professionals from around the U.S. discussing their work.
